Terms of Service

Welcome to TrestleBoard. By creating an account, accessing, or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use TrestleBoard.

I. Eligibility & Account Verification

TrestleBoard is an exclusive, private digital network for Freemasons. Access is a privilege, not a right.

  1. Eligibility Criteria: To register and maintain an active account, you must be a Freemason in good standing under a recognized Grand Lodge jurisdiction.
  2. Verification: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration, including your Lodge affiliation and Masonic credentials. TrestleBoard reserves the right to independently verify your standing with relevant Lodge officers or Grand Lodge records.
  3. Account Security: You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to notify platform administrators immediately of any unauthorized access to or use of your account.

II. Community Conduct & Standards

All members are expected to conduct themselves as upright men and Masons at all times while utilizing TrestleBoard.

  1. Adherence to Community Standards: You agree to strictly abide by our Community Standards & Code of Conduct.
  2. Prohibited Conduct:
    • No Sectarian or Partisan Arguments: Sectorial religious debate and partisan political content are strictly prohibited.
    • No Unbecoming Behavior: Harassment, hate speech, vulgarity, bullying, and ad hominem attacks are strictly forbidden.
    • Preservation of Secrecy: Secrets of the Craft, modes of recognition, and ritual work must never be posted, recorded, or discussed on the platform.
    • Confidentiality: Sharing or leaking screenshots, private messages, or member data outside of TrestleBoard is strictly prohibited.

III. User Content & Intellectual Property

  1. Your Content: You retain ownership of the text, media, and other content you post on TrestleBoard ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant TrestleBoard a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, display, and distribute your content solely for the operation and display of the platform.
  2. Platform Intellectual Property: The TrestleBoard name, logo, design, codebase, and original content are the intellectual property of TrestleBoard. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any platform assets without prior written consent.

IV. Moderation, Suspensions, & Ban Enforcement

  1. Digital Tilers & Moderation: Platform administrators and moderators ("Digital Tilers") are authorized to enforce Community Standards, edit or remove non-compliant content, and issue warnings or account restrictions.
  2. Progressive Discipline: Violations may result in warnings, temporary mutes, temporary suspensions, or permanent expulsion from the platform.
  3. Ban Evasion Protection: As detailed in our Privacy Policy, TrestleBoard logs signup and login IP addresses. If an account is suspended or expelled, its email address and last known IP address are added to a block list to prevent suspension evasion.
  4. Masonic Standing Notification: Egregious misconduct that violates Masonic obligations or brings dishonor upon the Craft may be reported to the offending member's respective Grand Lodge.

V. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

  1. "As Is" Service: TrestleBoard is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
  2. Third-Party Content: TrestleBoard is not responsible for views, opinions, or content posted by individual users. Views expressed by members do not represent the official stance of TrestleBoard or any Grand Lodge.
  3. Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, TrestleBoard, its administrators, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your access to or use of the platform.

VI. Termination & Account Deletion

  1. Termination by User: You may terminate your account at any time through account settings or by contacting an administrator.
  2. Termination by Platform: TrestleBoard reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or harms the harmony of the community.

VII. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When material changes are made, we will notify members via platform notification or email prior to the updates taking effect. Continued use of TrestleBoard after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
